Wine industry survey This survey is made up of two sections comprising: a) analysis of the 99 leading Italian companies operating in the wine industry included in the Mediobanca Research Department database. With capital invested of EUR 4.9bn and aggregate sales volumes amounting to EUR 4.2bn, these companies account for 46% of total Italian value of production in 2008 and 54% (EUR 3,6bn) of the country's exports. The study is based on the companies' results for the 2004-2008 period, preliminary results for 2009 and estimates for 2010, as well as interviews with the companies concerned with a view to gaining a more indepth insight into certain operational aspects such as geographical production location, labelling, sales channels, etc.; b) stock market performance of listed wine industry companies worldwide, updated to March 2010. The survey is available for download. Mediobanca global wine industry share price index This is an index compiled by Mediobanca in 2004 covering companies operating in the wine industry and listed on stock markets worldwide. The index time series (with a base date of 1st January 2001) is available for download, along with its methodology and with the slides used in a presentation given at the University of Florence on 2 December 2004.
