This is the eighth edition of R&S's annual statistical survey of leading international banks. The survey has been compiled from information in the banks’ annual reports and other information they have provided to R&S. The financial aggregates cover the 1999-2009 period for European, Japanese and U.S groups and 2004-2008 for Chinese groups.
Section I illustrates key trends in banking operations. Section II contains statistical tables giving aggregate profit and loss accounts, financial statements, and financial ratios. Section III describes the principles and methods used to select the companies and restate their figures.
